CalHFA down payment help near you. On a $700k townhome, that is $24,500.

The help is a percent of the price. So the dollars change city by city. These guides show what MyHome, ZIP, and Dream For All are worth at the prices near you. One thing stays the same: the $259,000 income limit across San Diego County. That is higher than most people guess.

We help first-time buyers across San Diego County, from the beach cities to East County. We also cover the fast-growing southwest corner of Riverside County. Each city guide below shows rough local prices and real dollar examples of the help. Pick your city. See what the state could put toward your down payment there.

One border, two sets of income limits

CalHFA sets income limits by county. The county line matters more than most buyers expect. In 2026, a household can earn up to $259,000 in San Diego County and still qualify for MyHome. The same household shopping in Temecula or Murrieta is held to Riverside County's $210,000 limit. Dream For All has its own lower limits: $207,000 in San Diego County and $164,000 in Riverside County.

MyHome / CalHFA main mortgage income limit$259,000$210,000
Dream For All income limit$207,000$164,000

Here is what that means. A couple earning $230,000 fits MyHome in every San Diego County city on this page. In Temecula or Murrieta, they do not. Shopping across the county line? Check where your income lands first. See the full 2026 income limits page, or check your eligibility and we will sort it out for you.
